Update on our church

March 6, 2025, 11:59 AM

It is with sadness that I let you know that John Deyo passed away last night/ early this morning.  The last thing he did was come to our Wednesday Meal.  He had just gotten a car and had brought a friend to our meal.

I have been interim pastor for just over a month. Recently, members of our church have faced some really tough times with family, illnesses, diagnoses, and even death. At every moment, I have seen people step up and fill the void in times of need, minister to each other, seek out ways to provide for each other, and most of all, support each other.

Times like these reveal the real character of a church.  I am proud to be part of a group of believers that take care of each other the way I seen this last month.  I know it makes the Father proud.

As we consider how to reach out and grow as a church, I wanted to let you know what is coming.

Please make every effort to be here next Sunday, March 16th. Dr. Jon Hager will be there. He is not only an accomplished ophthalmologist serving in Baylor Scott and White, but he is also the founder and director of Gospel Rocks Ranch. He will spread the word and share his vision and opportunities to serve alongside them this Spring.

After that, we will look towards Easter and follow Jesus to the Cross through our Sunday series.

Last night, we had a business meeting.  Such a blessing to see us work together to see what God is doing.  God is providing for His church.  We were able to agree to purchase a new oven for the kitchen, a streaming camera for the sanctuary, and an update on the wood sign that you see entering the Eastlake Area.  All of these things are assisting different parts of our church to begin to grow.

Though there have been some difficult times for some, how God uses this church to love and support each other is a testament to the church's people.  Praise the Lord we get to follow Christ together.
